FAQs

Frequently asked questions

  • Therapy can help you by providing a safe space to talk about what’s on your mind and work through any challenges you’re facing. It offers tools and strategies to manage stress, anxiety, or other emotions, and helps you understand yourself better. By exploring your feelings and experiences with a trained professional, you can gain new perspectives, build confidence, and develop skills to handle difficult situations more effectively. Overall, therapy supports your growth and well-being, helping you navigate life’s ups and downs with greater resilience.

  • In therapy, what you share is generally kept confidential, meaning I won’t share it with anyone without your permission. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule. A therapist may need to break confidentiality whenever safety is a concern to keep you and others safe. I will explain these limits to you at the beginning, so you’ll know exactly what to expect. The goal is to create a safe and trusting environment where you feel comfortable sharing and working through your concerns.

  • You can usually tell if therapy is helping you by noticing positive changes in how you feel and handle situations. You might start to see improvements in your mood, your ability to manage stress, or your relationships with others. Therapy is also about setting and achieving personal goals, so if you’re making progress toward those goals or finding new ways to cope with challenges, that’s a good sign. I will regularly check in with you about your progress and adjust the approach as needed to ensure it’s working for you. If you ever feel uncertain, it’s okay to talk to me about how you’re feeling and what you’re experiencing.
